Online gamblers in Asia place higher bets on average than their counterparts in Europe, are more likely to use mobile devices to bet, and prefer slot games above most others.
According to data from casino platform SoftSwiss, bets placed by Asia-based players are 2.5 times higher than those placed in Europe and four times higher than those placed in Latin America. The study, reported by LiveCasinoDirect.com, also reports that 71.6 percent of Asian players prefer mobile betting, compared to 68.3 percent in Europe.
Because slot games account for over 80 percent of all games played in Asia, operators catering to the Asian audience “should include traditional regional games in their portfolio,” said Darya Avtukhovich, head of the SoftSwiss Casino Platform.
“This involves not only stylizing content using well-known Asian symbols, such as dragons, but also bringing familiar table games for local players online, such as Mahjong and others.
“Similarly, in sports betting, offering bets on traditional sports like Muay Thai and Kabaddi alongside popular international sports will significantly enhance the online casino’s offerings,” she said.
The data also indicate that women significantly trail men as participants in the space: just 6.2 percent of Asian women are regular online bettors, versus 18.1 percent in Europe and 17.4 percent in Latin America, the study indicates.
