Rich Get Richer on Macau

The gaming boom has added billions to the net worth of several well-known people who own a piece of it. Forbes’ latest list ranks Galaxy Entertainment Chairman Lui Che Woo (l.) as the second-wealthiest individual in Hong Kong. The Ho clan isn’t doing too bad either.

Macau’s gambling boom has done right over the last year by some of the high flyers on Forbes’ list of Hong Kong’s wealthiest individuals.

Galaxy Entertainment Group Chairman Lui Che Woo added US$11.5 billion to his wealth over the last 12 months, bringing his net worth to US$21 billion and moving up to second place on the list.

Stanley Ho’s daughter Pansy Ho, managing director of Shun Tak Holdings and co-chairwoman of MGM China Holdings, added US$3.9 billion to her net worth, moving her from 11th to ninth with $6.8 billion.

Angela Leong, the fourth and youngest of Ho’s wives and consorts and an executive director of Ho’s SJM Holdings, grew her personal wealth to $2.85 billion from $2.1 billion a year ago.

Ho’s son Lawrence, co-chair of Melco Crown Entertainment, is now worth $3.4 billion, good for 12th.
