Russian investor Zolotaya Lastochka 8 has confirmed that it will proceed with plans to build a RUB3.5 billion (US$47.4 million) casino in the country’s Altai Territory.

Construction will begin this month, when the current Covid-19 lockdown ends, possibly as early as May 11. The casino is scheduled open by 2024, according to state representatives.

According to Asia Gaming Brief, the casino will have 300 slot machines, 100 gaming tables and a hotel.

Currently, the only other casino in the Siberian gaming zone is Altai Palace. Last year, 140,000 visitors visited the resort, according tourism chief Yevgeny Deshevykh.
