Sachar Gaming Receives Provincial Indian Multi-games license

Sachar Gaming has been approved for a multi-games online license in the Indian state of Nagaland. While five other companies have been licensed for online play in the state, this is the first license allowing an operator to offer multiple games, the company said.

Sachar Gaming has been approved for a multi-games online license in the Indian state of Nagaland—the first company to receive such a license in the state, Sachar said.

According to local media, the license covers online poker, rummy, binary options and virtual sport fantasy league games. Sachar Gaming operates online poker site Khelplay.com and rummy-focused Khelplayrummy.com.

Nagaland requires licensees to pay 0.5 percent of gross revenue in taxes and an annual fee of INR1 million—about €15,400/€14,100)—per game or INR2.5 million for a ‘bouquet’ of games for the first three years.

Sachar Gaming has received a ‘bouquet’ license and is the sixth operator to be licensed in the state, but the first to offer multiple games.

“The licensing regime will also enable us to aggressively expand, market and advertise our games,” said PK Jain, head of operations at Sachar Gaming. “It will also allow us to add newer games and products, which we aim to launch soon.”
