Scientific Games Corporation announced that it is delivering Lotto Berlin’s network of 950 retailers a new, innovative suite of lottery retail terminals, including tablet-based technology.
The German lottery awarded Scientific Games a new six-year contract for lottery retail technology last year. As part of the contract, Scientific Games is also providing Lotto Berlin and its retailers with field service, maintenance, retailer and lottery personnel training, and product rollout. The company is a supplier to all 16 German state lotteries.
“This was a full rollout of more than 1,000 new lottery terminals to suit every type of retailer in our network, and we look forward to adding the tablet technology as well,” said Hansjörg Höltkemeier, CEO of Lotto Berlin. “The success of the initiative was made possible only through close cooperation with Scientific Games and our Lotto Berlin teams, and it is not comparable to a retail technology deployment for any other German lottery market thus far.”
A supplier to Lotto Berlin since 1996, Scientific Games also supplies central gaming systems technology and instant games to the Lottery.
Matthias Müller, managing director, Germany for Scientific Games, said, “When it comes to technology, we have differentiated Scientific Games from other providers based on our ability to deliver integrated products and solutions that meet the needs of every type of retailer, as we have demonstrated here with Lotto Berlin.”
“We are pleased to continue serving Lotto Berlin by deploying innovative technology across the retailer network that makes lottery games easier to sell and more convenient for players to purchase in any way they choose,” said Pat McHugh, senior vice president, global lottery systems for Scientific Games.
Scientific Games provides games, technology and services to more than 150 lotteries globally.
