Seminole Gaming, operator of the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s seven casinos including the Seminole Hard Rock casinos in Tampa and Hollywood, announced that John R. Eder has been promoted to chief financial officer. He was previously senior vice president of finance.
“John was the first employee I hired at Seminole Gaming, said James Allen, CEO of Seminole Gaming and chairman of its wholly owned subsidiary Hard Rock International. “I am very proud of his accomplishments, and I am confident in his ability to lead the financial areas of Seminole Gaming into the future.”
Eder will have overall daily responsibility for finance, banking and investor relations, accounting, payroll, risk management, compliance, planning and analysis, cage, credit and purchasing for Seminole Gaming. He sits on several strategic steering committees for Seminole Gaming, including executive, benefits, investment, information technology and compensation.
Eder joined Seminole Gaming in June 2002, working as vice president of finance in the Gaming Division and at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa before being named senior VP of finance.
Prior to joining Seminole Gaming, Eder was vice president – finance of Kerzner International, owner and operator of the Atlantis Resort on Paradise Island in the Bahamas. He has also held management positions with Walt Disney World, Vesuvius USA and Coopers & Lybrand, now part of PwC.
During his career, Eder has been responsible for strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, operational analysis, internal and external auditing, system and reporting development and asset management. He has extensive international business experience, working with companies in the Bahamas, Europe, Africa and South America.
