Magnus Silfverberg will step down as CEO of Betsson in July 2015 and move to another industry.
According to an announcement by the company, current executive chairman Pontus Lindwall has been appointed by the board of directors to manage the CEO responsibilities until a successor to Silfverberg has been found.
Lindwall’s duties as chairman will be temporarily taken up by Lars Linder-Aronson, a director of the company.
“I have had six fantastic years at Betsson,” Silfverberg said in a press release. “The company has during this period more than tripled in size and quadrupled its market value. I am proud of the journey we have made, and it has not been an easy decision to leave Betsson. However, I am leaving a company in top shape with a very strong culture, and I have great confidence that Betsson will continue to develop well in the future.”
