Former Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas executive Jim Simms, has found a new home, in the Downtown Grand, where he will take over as chief executive officer. Sims most recently worked at Miami Valley Gaming in Ohio. A company-wide memo was sent by Seth Schorr, who was CEO since the opening of Downtown Grand in October 2013, on May 21.
Schorr is now chairman of Fifth Street Gaming, which owns Downtown Grand. Simms comes on after a six-month search. Simms previously served as President and GM of Wheeling Island Hotel-Casino-Racetrack in West Virginia. Also in the Mountain State, Simms was VP of Marketing for Wheeling Island Resort.
