Hard Rock International officials announced Hard Rock Rocksino in Deadwood, South Dakota will open August 8 in the former Hickok’s building on Main Street.
Rocksino General Manager Rich Turbiville told NewsCenter1, “Hard Rock just fell in love with the Black Hills and they wanted to be a part of it. And with the history, the mystique of Deadwood, the Gold Rush days, it just goes hand-in-hand with what they try to promote worldwide.”
Rocksino will feature a gaming floor with 86 slots, plus a 22-room hotel, full-service bar and restaurant and live entertainment space. The grand opening will feature Hard Rock’s traditional guitar-smashing ceremony, officials said.
Turbiville added, “One of Hard Rock’s specialties is bringing in great musical entertainment, and being right next to Outlaw Square with the facility that Deadwood has built, it’s a natural match for what we want to do with Hard Rock.”
According to a press release, the Hard Rock Rocksino “is anticipated to further enhance the city’s vibrant entertainment scene, combining the allure of the Wild West with the electrifying atmosphere that the brand is known for worldwide.”
