Spain’s gaming regulator, La Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego, has awarded 10 new operator licenses, according to a report in SBC News.
European companies Eurobet, Merkur Interactive, SKS365 and Net Ent are among the new licensed operators and service providers.
The DGOJ also plans to announce its first set of approved licenses for online slots services for the Spanish iGaming market. The regulatory body confirmed that slots licenses have been given to European operators William Hill, bet365, bwin.party, 888 and iGaming services provider Playtech.
Last November, the DGOJ opened up the market for applications from international operators and service providers. It has also set up new broadcasting and marketing laws to promote iGaming and improve sports betting services, reported SBC.
