The Spanish national gambling regulator Dirección General de Ordenación del Juego announced year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter revenue growth for the country’s gambling market.
For the three months to September 30, the sector generated €140.5m ($163.6m), up 37.3 percent over 2016. Sports betting revenue climbed 37 percent year-on-year to just under €77m, while online casino revenue also soared by 54.2 percent to €43.9m in the quarter.
Slots accounted for 50.9 percent €22.3m) of Spain’s overall casino revenue figure, with live roulette in second with €9.1m. Online poker revenue came in at €14.7m, up 6.8 percent on last year. Bingo revenue rose by 30.5 percent year-on-year to €2.9m.
