On March 12 during Full House Resorts’ fourth-quarter conference call, President and Chief Executive Officer Daniel R. Lee said the Las Vegas-based company had not felt any affects from the coronavirus—but the situation could change at any time. And it did, when the governments of Mississippi and Colorado ordered casinos to temporarily close. As a result, Silver Slipper Casino & Hotel in Hancock County, Mississippi is closed until further notice and Bronco Billy’s Casino & Hotel in Cripple Creek, Colorado closed for at least 30 days starting March 17. Full House also put on hold construction of Bronco Billy’s new parking garage.
Full House also has increased cleaning and disinfection procedures at its properties and has started testing employees’ temperatures with infrared monitors as they arrive for work. Lee said any employee with a temperature of 100°F or higher is told to return home and contact a health care provider.
Lee said Full House shares have declined about 75 percent from its 52-week high. He compared the current coronavirus situation to the 1987 stock market crash, terrorist attacks of 9/11, Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the 2008 recession. “We’re determined to be a survivor. We’re going to come out of this just fine. We just want to keep our customers and employees and weather the storm,” he said.
