Marking 10 years in the VIP business

Alvin Chau Cheok Wa, chief executive of junket investor Suncity Group says the company founded in Macau in March 2007 will continue to grow beyond the Chinese territory.

According a release from the privately-held firm, Suncity Group opened its first VIP room in Macau 10 years ago this month and now operates 26 rooms including in Macau and beyond. The other jurisdictions include Manila, London and Vegas; Seoul, South Korea; Melbourne, Australia; and Auckland, New Zealand.

The Suncity Group is also involved in a casino resort now under development in Quang Nam Province in Vietnam. Hoi An South Development Co. Ltd. is a joint venture between Suncity; Vietnam-based asset management firm VinaCapital Group; and Gold Yield Enterprises Ltd, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Chow Tai Fook Enterprises Ltd., reported GGRAsia.

“Thanks to the tremendous support from different sectors, the group has been able to grow and flourish. In the future, Suncity Group is determined to develop its global travel and entertainment business,” Chau said.

Last year, the group opened VIP rooms in Macau’s two newest Cotai casino resorts, Wynn Palace and the Parisian
