Sweden Approves Smarkets Betting Exchange

Spelinspektionen, Sweden’s regulator, approved betting exchange Smarkets, making the company the country’s second licensed exchange.

Smarkets will offer markets on sports, politics and current affairs.

“I am confident that our market-leading prices and superior product will appeal to Swedish customers,” said Jason Trost, Smarkets CEO and founder. “The fact that we own our tech stack is one of the reasons we are able to offer the best pricing in the industry, and I’m really looking forward to growing our user base in Sweden.”

The addition of Sweden gives Smarkets an ever growing international presence, with offices in the U.K., Malta and Los Angeles, according to SBC News.

Smarkets introduced its SBK sportsbook app to bettors in Colorado in June, and plans to enter Indiana before the end of the year.
