Tinian Casino to Reopen

Conditions must be met before opening

The Tinian Dynasty Casino on the island of Saipan is set to reopen this week, according to the casino and officials of the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission, According to the Asia Gaming Brief, the gaming hall, shuttered since a typhoon struck in early August, will reopen December 15.

The Saipan Tribune reported that the casino was required to meet certain conditions before its reopening. Commission Executive Director Lucy Blanco Maratita said the conditions include payment of table and slot machine fees and outstanding taxes from the last fiscal year; paying all unpaid employee salaries or creating a schedule for repayment; ensuring that employee licenses and hotel registrations are renewed or up-to-date; and identifying its source of funding for the reopening, the Tribune reported.

The casino has already paid a $250,000 annual casino license fee, Blanco said.

When it reopens, the casino will welcome guests from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 24 hours a day Friday and Saturday.
