The Seminole Tribe of Florida recently debuted a multimillion dollar expansion at its Immokalee casino complex, including an 80-room, 19-suite Seminole Casino Hotel, the first upscale hotel accommodations in Immokalee, where the median household income is ,399, according to Census.gov. Rates range from 9.90 for a standard room to ,300 for a luxury suite with a view of the pool.
Jim Allen, chief executive officer of Seminole Gaming said casino hotel guests mainly will be patrons who live either full-time or part-time within an hour-and-a-half drive from Immokalee, areas including Ft. Myers and Naples.
Allen noted the expansion has created more than 100 new hotel jobs. “We employ about 1,000 in this casino and hotel alone. More than 35,000 work for the Seminole tribe and all of its affiliate businesses,” he said.
The Imokalee expansion also included the Seminole Center ballroom, which can accommodate up to 800 people indoors and 3,000 outdoors.
The Asian-inspired Lucky Mi Noodle House restaurant also has opened and more space was added for extra slot machines and live table games in addition to the casino’s 1,300 slot machines and 38 tables. A new high limit room featuring 73 slot machines, 10 blackjack and two compact baccarat tables also opened with table game bets starting at $50 and slot bets ranging from $5 to $100.
Opened in 1994, the Immokalee casino is one of seven Florida casinos owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida and managed by Seminole Gaming. The property more than doubled in size less than five years ago.
