U.K. national lottery provider Camelot has recorded a year-on-year increase in ticket sales of more than 545 million for the 2014-15 fiscal year. The boost has been attributed to the rollout of a new online lottery service, introduced with great success last September. According to SBC News, Camelot has also benefited from new mobile instant win games.

Camelot’s £1.34 billion (US$2 billion) in digital lottery and subscription sales represents a £163 million (US$249 million) increase on 2013 performance.

“The work we’ve carried out to transform our digital services has played a key role in this year’s record-breaking performance, but we won’t be resting on our laurels,” said Tim Copper, digital director of Camelot UK Lotteries. “Our success will continue to be driven by our focus on first-class digital innovation, and offering our players an enhanced game portfolio and even greater convenience.”

Camelot says it awarded over £4 billion (US$6.1 billion) in prize money to players during the year. “We’ve a number of exciting initiatives in the pipeline which will ensure that we build on this year’s exceptional performance, and deliver even more for winners and society in the years to come,” said Copper.
