Valencia CF La Liga Soccer Team Adds eSports Team

Valencia CF soccer team has become the first La Liga club to start an eSports team. The team unveiled its new component at Mestalla stadium and also announced a partnership with Twitch, the video streaming platform owned by Amazon and the leading eSports platform.

Valencia CF soccer team of the Spanish La Liga has launched its own eSports team.

“This is a very interesting project and a challenge for Valencia CF to enter a sports sector with such a marked growth,” said Peter Draper, Marketing Director of Valencia CF. “It puts Valencia CF in the vanguard of the sector that is causing most interest throughout Europe.”

Recently, German soccer club Schalke 04 also launched its own eSports team by acquiring and rebranding the popular team Immortals.

eSports has been thriving in Spain and recent studies have projected that the eSports market will continue to grow in the European markets for the next few years.

The team is also partnered with Twitch, the video streaming platform owned by Amazon and the leading platform for presenting live or prerecorded matches across different eSports and competitions.
