Vegas Appealing More to Foreign Visitors

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority said 20 percent of all tourists are international in Las Vegas, and has plans of raising that number to 30 percent in the near future by offering more custom amenities.

According to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, 20 percent of all visitors to Las Vegas are from outside the U.S. The goal for the LVCVA is to have that number up to 30 percent in the next seven to 10 years. One of the reasons for the high numbers, which should only get higher, is casinos willingness to supply international tourists with custom-tailored amenities.

The Venetian and Palazzo will even print out a newspaper from the International News store to guests for a fee. Their butler service will also provide newspapers to guests. The Aria provides a similar service, by offering complementary access to Press Reader, which provides 2,700 publications in hundreds of different languages. Beyond newspaper services, the Aria designed its Salon Prive to appeal towards Asian guests.

The Palms Casino Resort features a staff in slot and table areas who speak 10 languages, and can convert Australian, U.K., Canadian, euro, Hong Kong, Japanese and Swiss currency.
