The Plaza Hotel & Casino of Las Vegas announced that Victor Fernandez will follow in his parents’ footsteps and work for the storied Downtown Las Vegas property.
Fernandez was appointed associate director of sales and catering, and will support initiatives to attract new corporate, leisure, and catered events to the Plaza.
“Victor brings to the Plaza extensive experience in driving revenue and market share growth by building and leveraging relationships with key partners,” said Plaza Director of Sales, Catering, and CORE Arena Michele Evans in a statement. “It is very exciting to have a sales executive with his level of experience, proven success, and personal connection to the Plaza join our team.”
A Las Vegas native, Fernandez’s parents worked at the property in the 1970s when it was the Union Plaza. His father attended opening day celebrations at the site on July 1971.
Fernandez has 25 years of sales experience in the hospitality industry, including 15 with the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority where he was national sale manager. He also was the senior sales manager at the Casablanca Resort, Casino, Golf & Spa in Mesquite, Nevada.
