A new casino may open this year in the Spanish city of Vigo. The casino is a joint project of the Luckia Group and Cirsa, who own the Casino La Toja (l.) in O Grove municipality in Galicia.

Projecting $37M in revenues per year

Officials with casino operators the Luckia Group and Cirsa have met with lawmakers in Vigo, Spain to discuss plans for a new casino there.

Luckia President José González Fuentes and Cirsa Manager Braulio Pérez recently consulted with Vigo Mayor Abel Caballero, and Commerce Councilor Ángel Rivas to discuss plans for the new casino, which will create 105 direct jobs plus an additional 75 to 80 indirect jobs.

According to G3Newswire, the agreement is dependent on planning permission for the building of the casino in Vigo’s free trade zone as well as the authorization from the government of Galicia. Both companies also own the Casino La Toja in the municipality of O Grove in Galicia.

The owners will invest up to €6 million (US$7.4 million) to develop the 1,700-square-meter (18,300-square-foot) site in the lower level of the A Laxe Shopping Center.

The gaming room will include a bar and a restaurant and will house the maximum number of games allowable by law with tables, sports betting and slots. The company said it would raise as much as €30 million (US$37 million) per year in revenue.
