Vilela is Macau Gaming Adviser

Attorney António Lobo Vilela has been named senior legal adviser for Macau’s Cabinet of the Secretary for Economy and Finance. The Portuguese lawyer is a former member of the Macau Gaming Commission and a onetime legal adviser to the Legal Affairs Bureau.

António Lobo Vilela has been named the new adviser to Macau Secretary for Economy and Finance Lionel Leong.

From October 2000 until August 2003, Vilela was a senior legal adviser for the Legal Affairs Bureau. He then joined Macau’s Gaming Commission as part of the team led by Jorge Oliveira to draft new gaming legislation for Macau and established the concessionaire system. In 2010, Vilela became a partner at Macau Gaming Consulting Limited and in 2012 joined LVT Layers.

Vilela earned a degree from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon and specializes in Macau gaming law.
