VIP ETGs?

The vice chairman of Success Universe Group Ltd. says the company will replace two VIP gaming tables with 100 electronic baccarat machines at its Ponte 16 casino (l.) in Macau. The move reflects the continuing loss of VIP gaming and revenues in the world’s leading casino market.

As high rollers continue to shun Macau, some operators are shuffling the games at casinos in the market to attract a more modest clientele. According to Macau Business, Success Universe Group Ltd. has announced plans to close two VIP tables at its Ponte 16 casino, and add more than 100 electronic baccarat machines. Hoffman Ma Ho Man told reporters in Hong Kong that the casino would still have room for 100 more electronic gaming machines.

At the end of 2014, Ponte 16 had 88 gaming tables for the mass market, 11 high-limit tables and 10 VIP tables.

The switch will be made in the coming two months. Ma added that Success Universe did not plan to issue any dividends at the moment as there were still uncertainties the company was facing with respect to its lottery business in Mainland China as well as the Ponte 16 expansion plan, reported the Macau Business Daily.
