Washington Tribe Adds Casino Assistant Manager and CFO

The Cowlitz Tribe of Washington, in anticipation of the opening of its $500 million casino in La Center, has hired an assistant manager and new chief financial officer.

Washington’s Cowlitz Tribe has announced the addition of an assistant general manager and a chief financial officer as it moves forward on building the 0 million casino that it plans to open in La Center less than a year from now.

James Dougherty has been named assistant manager and Erik Palmer has been named chief financial officer.

Kara Fox-LaRose, general manager and president said in a press release “At this phase in the project, we’re thrilled to bring Jim and Erik on board. Both have extensive experience in the gaming industry, and the Cowlitz project will undoubtedly benefit from their expertise and guidance as we move closer to opening.”

Dougherty, a 30-year veteran of the gaming industry, has been an executive at Sands in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Foxwoods Resort & Casino and Foxwoods Development Company.

Palmer has 20 years in the business, and helped open the Beau Rivage Resort in Biloxi, Miss., and the Seneca Gaming properties in Western New York. Previously he was CFO for the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort in New York.
