Washington Tribe Plans Expansion

Washington’s Nisqually Red Wind Casino plans to expand its gaming operations near Olympia. It plans to add a hotel and convention center to its existing property.

The Nisqually Red Wind Casino last week published a legal notice in a Washington newspaper, the Olympian, indicating that it plans to expand gaming, add a hotel and convention center to its existing property.

The notice is a request for proposals from planning and architectural firms to create long range planning for the tribe, including five-year, 10 year, and 20 year options. The tribe is also reportedly interested in adding an “entertainment complex” to its property near Interstate 5 in Lacey.

The casino, which is located in Olympia, opened in 1997 and has nearly doubled its gaming floor in the interim. Now it will again expand its casino, plus the hotel and convention space.

The existing casino has 975 slots and 22 gaming tables all within 85,000 square feet. It also has four restaurants.
