Ellen Whittemore, executive vice president and general counsel for Wynn Resorts Ltd., be licensed as an officer of the company, has been unanimously recommended for licensing by the Nevada Gaming Control Board. The recommendation is expected to be considered by the Nevada Gaming Commission on December 19.
Whittemore, who serves as Wynn Las Vegas LLC corporate secretary, replaced Kim Sinatra in July 2018 in the aftermath of Wynn’s resignation amid charges of sexual harassment. Sinatra departed in August 2018 with a $1.8 million cash settlement.
Whittemore is a former shareholder of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck LLP, and from 2014 to 2016 oversaw an eponymous boutique law firm, Whittemore Gaming Group. Prior to that, she spent more than 20 years of counsel in the Las Vegas office of the law firm Lionel Sawyer & Collins.
