William Hill Exits Romania

Bookmaker William Hill has pulled its online services out of Romania due to new regulations in the market.

William Hill management has withdrawn its online betting and gaming services from Romania due to new regulations in the country.

The bookmaker suspended all operations early this month as well as all Romanian account activity on their digital platforms. The company has advised players to withdraw their balances.

The bookmaker also told its affiliates and marketing partners to stop marketing in the country.

Romania has implemented new online gambling regulations that requires operators to obtain an online gambling license and levies a 20 percent % tax duty on online gambling revenues. The rules also require operators to return 20 percent of revenue gained through Romania since 2009, when it banned online gambling.
