Wynn Active in Asia

Despite some questions about when some of the Cotai projects would open, Wynn Palace will open on time. Also, Steve Wynn visited Kazakhstan to talk with President Nursultan Nazarbayev (l.) about building a casino resort in that Asian country.

Steve Wynn had a busy week in Asia. Some media reports found him in Kazakhstan to talk about developing of the tourism industry there. Wynn reportedly met with President Nursultan Nazarbayev and other government officials about possible joint ventures to develop hotels and possibly casinos in the mid-Asian nation.

Meanwhile, the Macau Daily Times reported that Wynn has said the opening of Wynn Palace should remain in late March, but it also depends upon the number of foreign workers available to complete construction, and also the number of table games that would be permitted. Wynn told the Times that nine-tenths of the $4 billion used to build Wynn Palace would be dedicated to non-gaming elements of the property.
