Wynn Las Vegas intends to have a news sports betting app available in time for the March Madness NCAA men’s basketball tournament, which is among the most popular sports betting events each year.
Wynn announced its intention to launch the sports betting app in February and is available for use by Nevada residents and tourists while in Nevada. State law allows mobile sports betting from cell phones, tablets, and other mobile devices while located within Nevada and when the bettors location can be pinpointed using GPS tracking.
Wynn says the sports betting app enables bettors to wager from home or while having fun doing other things while in Las Vegas, like hanging out at the pool or enjoying a meal at a great restaurant.
Wynn has worked with app developer Miomni Gaming the past two years to create the app, which will be offered as part of its Encore Players Club lounge, which opened in December.
“Wynn Las Vegas will be the first to offer a new experience in gaming and entertainment on the casino floor by creating a distinctive social space to gamble with friends, watch the game, or hang out before hitting the club. We’re anticipating millennials will be drawn to such an offering,” Wynn Las Vegas said in a release.
Miomni Gaming has created mobile sports betting apps for other Nevada gaming operators, including Boyd Gaming.
Wynn also intends to add a race-betting component in time for the Kentucky Derby and annual run at the Triple Crown.
