Canada’s Amaya Gaming has appointed Chris Lewis, former commissioner of the Ontario Provisional Police, as an adviser to its board of directors. Lewis will advise the Amaya board on security processes and integrity.
“As a company operating in a heavily regulated industry, Mr. Lewis’ experience will ensure we continue to lead the way in security processes and procedures as well as integrity, which are of crucial importance to our customers, as well as governments and industry partners,” said Amaya Chairman and CEO David Baazov.
Meanwhile, Amaya also moved to expand its senior management team by appointing George Sweny as its new vice president of strategic ventures. Sweny, a member of the board of directors of the Responsible Gambling Council of Canada, will support Amaya’s ongoing commitment to responsible gaming.
“Mr. Sweny has extensive gaming industry experience in both the public and private sector, and will ensure we maintain the highest standards in responsible gaming,” Baazov said.
