Another Delay for Grand Lisboa?

SJM Holdings might have to postpone the opening of its long-awaited Grand Lisboa Palace in Macau from the second quarter to the third as it waits for licensing permits, according to a note from Morgan Stanley.

The gaming operator still doesn’t have an occupancy permit for the luxury property in Macau’s Cotai district, and needs other approvals from both the Macau Government Tourism Office and the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, reported Asia Gaming Brief. It could take up to eight weeks for those permissions to be issued, the firm said.

SJM plans to offer 260 mass tables at the resort. Forty-four VIP tables may open in 2022, along with an exclusive Versace-branded hotel. The property is likely to debut with 650 rooms in its own-brand hotel, AGB reported.
