Finland’s gaming monopoly Veikkaus is imposing maximum loss limits for players of slot machines. The limits, before limited to online games, allow players to lose no more than €500 per day.

Finland Extends Loss Limits to Slots

Veikkaus, Finland’s gaming monopoly has extended compulsory gambling loss limits to slot machines. Patrons will be required to set maximum loss amounts before being allowed to play.

The measure is already in effect for online gaming, following an order by the Finnish Ministry of the Interior during the Covid pandemic last year.

Originally seen as temporary, the measure has been extended several times and finally in June was made permanent by the government. Players are limited to losing no more than €500 (£428/$587) and €2,000 per month.
