The International Association of Gaming Advisors announced that Gavin Isaacs, CEO of Scientific Games Corporation, will deliver a keynote address at this week’s 34th annual International Gaming Summit in Vancouver, British Columbia.
Isaacs’ speech will focus on convergence in the gaming industry, and the impact technology has had on the casino business, according to IAGA.
“Across all industries and all geographies, the increase in the speed of technological progress has driven profound changes in both how and where we do business,” said a statement from IAGA on the keynote speech. “In just the past 10 years, modern globalization has been heavily impacted by continuous advances in digital technologies—mobile devices, cloud computing, Internet of Things, social networks, Big Data and analytics, to name a few. The gaming industry has been both evolving and yet also at the precipice of monumental change, as consumer trends are changing the way we think about traditional gambling and global markets are becoming more sophisticated.
“Consolidation and convergence of lottery and gaming on the supplier side has been largely driven by the need for transformational innovation and scale to adapt to a hyper-connected and more accessible world. What challenges and opportunities have arisen for both gaming suppliers and operators in responding to fast-changing consumer preferences in a digital age? Are these changes connecting the global gaming industry or creating further divides?”
