The Moroccan state lottery is seeking a new operator. The agency, La Marocaine des Jeux et des Sports (MDJS), put out an international tender to win an eight-year contract beginning January 1, 2023 for the overall management and operation of its lottery, sports betting and other activities, with the option of a two-year extension.
Bids must be submitted before April 4, when the proposal opening proceedings will take place at the MDJS’ headquarters in Casablanca.
According to a report by Gambling Insider, prospective operators may submit bids by registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt or by letter sent using any express courier service. The contract will be divided into two ‘lots,” one covering fixed odds and parimutuel sports betting, with the exception of horse and greyhound racing. The other concerns lotteries, instant sports lotteries and raffles. Bidders may submit a proposal for one lot or both.
There is an application fee of 10,000 dirham (US$1,081).
