Allan Zeman, non-executive chairman of Wynn Macau Ltd., has been announced as one of the speakers at Global Gaming Expo Asia 2018. The trade show will take place from May 15 to 17.
Zeman assumed the role after the departure of company founder Steve Wynn in February, following sexual harassment allegations.
Zeman will share a platform with Wilfred Wong Ying Wai, president and executive director of another Macau operator, Sands China Ltd., and Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, director of the Macao Government Tourism Office. They will discuss the topic “The Transformation of Macau and Its Goal for the Future.”
The Macau government has pledged to diversify Macau’s economy beyond gaming, and has charged the city’s Big 6 casino operators—whose licenses in the city will expire in 2020 and 2022—to help make it happen. In September, the tourism bureau published a Macao Tourism Industry Development Master Plan, a blueprint for the sector’s development in the next 15 years.
The panel will take place on Wednesday, May 16, and will be moderated by Margaret Huang, global lodging and Asia gaming analyst for Bloomberg Intelligence.
Others in the lineup include Paulo Martins Chan, director of Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau, and keynote speaker Lawrence Ho, chairman and chief executive of Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd.
