The general manager of Resorts World Las Vegas told the Nevada Gaming Commission that the tunnel Boring Co. is constructing between Resorts World and the Las Vegas Convention Center should open in time to be available to attendees of the National Association of Broadcasters convention April 23-27.

Resorts World GM Scott Sibella said he expects eight Tesla vehicles to be dedicated to the Resorts World tunnel connection. Sibella told commissioners the tunnel project is the first connection in what eventually will be part of a 29-mile, 51-station underground transit system connecting the resorts to the convention center.

Previously, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority approved a Boring tunnel connection between the convention center and the Westgate Las Vegas resort next door, which would intersect with the end point of the Resorts World tunnel, near the north end of the convention center’s West Hall. It is expected to extend south 1,000 feet to the Convention Center Loop station at the other end of the West Hall.

Sibella and other officers from Resorts World parent Genting Group were approved unanimously by the commission for licensing at last week’s hearing.
