SkyCity Welcomes VIPs

SkyCity Entertainment Group has seen saw VIP revenues rise by 99 percent to NZD 118 million (US$84.2 million), in part because some Macau high rollers are patronizing its casinos in New Zealand and Australia.

SkyCity Entertainment Group of New Zealand and Australian has issued impressive numbers for the second half of its fiscal year-to-date, which ended May 24. According to CalvinAyre.com, revenue rose nearly 18 percent thanks to new “international business,” or VIP play.

SkyCity said its VIP revenue soared 99 percent to NZD 118 million (US $84.2 million); VIP turnover rose 63 percent to NZD 8.6 billion, and the win rate saw an uptick of 1.12 percent last year to 1.37 percent for the period. The company has three casinos in New Zealand and two more in Australia.
