Sweeney to Keynote Regulator Conference

GLI announced that Lt. Colonel Kevin Sweeney will be the keynote speaker at the company’s North American Regulators Roundtable in Las Vegas.

Gaming Laboratories International announced that Lt. Colonel Kevin Sweeney will appear as keynote speaker at the company’s 2016 North American Regulators Roundtable on Thursday, March 3.

The 16th annual event takes place March 2-3 at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, and Sweeney will inspire attendees with his motivational address, “Pressure Cooker Confidence: How to Lead When the Heat Is On.”

GLI’s President & CEO James Maida said, “We are thrilled to welcome Lt. Colonel Sweeney as the keynote speaker for our 16th annual Regulators Roundtable. The theme of this year’s event is ‘strategically embracing innovation,’ and Lt. Colonel Sweeney is the perfect speaker to motivate attendees with his stirring stories while inspiring the crowd to value the importance of strategy and face new challenges head on.”

Sweeney’s presentation, “Pressure Cooker Confidence,” enables people to say “I can, I will, I expect, and I did it” when faced with intense pressure. The Lt. Colonel’s flagship presentation is built around his dramatic life-or-death flight during a night combat mission in Operation Desert Storm.

Sweeney will position attendees mentally in the cockpit with him to personally live through his incredible experience and challenge of having the two engines on his left wing detach from his airplane. As he introduces the five principles of performance under pressure, attendees will discover why the hard work beforehand matters more than the work performed when the pressure is on.

The Regulators Roundtable seminar program also includes the following key topics:

• Risks associated with replacing core gaming systems

• Security breach mitigation

• Cheating & fraud

• Millennials and game mechanics

• Fantasy sports

“Technologies are changing rapidly, and regulators need to continually embrace innovation in order for their jurisdictions to remain competitive,” Maida said. “This year’s Regulators Roundtable is created to help regulators begin to develop innovation strategies and prepare for the exciting new world of gaming that is at our doorstep.”
