Growing presence across Asia
Macau junket investor Tak Chun Group, which recently announced it would open a new VIP club in Da Nang, Vietnam, has divulged details of the plan to GGRAsia.
The 11-table VIP club started operations on March 31 at the casino inside the Crowne Plaza Danang resort.
The group also plans to launch a VIP club at MGM Cotai, a casino resort operated by Macau-based gaming concessionaire MGM China Holdings Ltd., later this year.
With the opening of the Da Nang club, Tak Chun currently has 19 VIP clubs in the Asia-Pacific region under its brand. In March it opened a VIP club at casino resort Okada Manila in the Philippines.
According to a February note from Union Gaming Securities Asia Ltd., Da Nang has gained in importance as a gaming destination because of its proximity to Hoiana, the casino project in development at Hoi An. Tak Chun’s Macau market rival, Suncity Group, will own a 34 percent stake in the resort.
Tak Chun Chief Financial Officer Tsang Ka Hung said the group’s activities in Macau and overseas markets “complement” each other.
On March 20 the group opened a new VIP club at the Okada Manila in the Philippine capital. That club offers 18 gaming tables across five rooms and is the third VIP room for Tak Chun in the Philippines market, alongside operations at Solaire Resort and Casino, a Bloomberry property, and City of Dreams Manila, run by Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
