The Macau government may finally be hearing the concerns of casino operators in the SAR. After 13 straight months of decline in the gaming industry, lawmakers have eased up on visa restrictions, and may even reconsider a planned full smoking ban after opposition from SJM director and legislator Angela Leong (l.), the wife of Stanley Ho. Analysts are hopeful that these moves represent a turning of the gaming tide in Macau.

Detroit Casinos Restore the Roar

Senator: Alabamians Ready For Gambling Vote

Alabama Senate President Pro Tem Del Marsh said citizens are "ready" to vote on gambling. He introduced in the current special session a constitutional amendment to let voters approve a lottery and casinos. Governor Robert Bentley called the session early to avoid giving gambling proponents time to mobilize public opinion.

Mandalay Bay and Monte Carlo Receive Upgrades

Atlantic City’s Casinos See 5.5 Percent Revenue Increase for June

Atlantic City’s surviving eight casinos saw a revenue bump of 5. 5 percent in June over 2014. But, counting three casinos that closed since June 2014, the city’s overall revenue was down 8.2 percent. Still, the numbers continue to indicate that the downsizing of the market has helped the remaining casinos.

Top Wynn Shareholder Jumps Ship

The former largest shareholder of Wynn Resorts Ltd. Stock, T. Rowe Price Group, has sold off more than 12 million shares of stock since April, leaving the company with just a 4.6 percent stake in the company, down from a peak of 16.8 percent.
